Automotive Body Repair

An Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer repairs and/or replaces frame and structural components, mechanical, interior and electrical components, plastic and composite panels and sheet metal panels. Specifically, an Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer:
- repairs, reshapes, and refits body panels
- welds breaks in body panels
- removes or replaces electrical, electronic components
- repairs, removes or replaces wiring harnesses, air conditioning systems and mechanical components
- straightens and aligns frames and unibody assemblies
- removes, replaces, or adjusts steering and suspension components
- aligns wheels
LEVEL ONE

Program Credits / Certification:
- Earn 2-3 Cooperative education credits on Principal’s discretion
- Earn a total of 2 Dual Credits upon successful completion of the Level One apprenticeship curriculum at Centennial College, Ashtonbee Campus
- Complete a “Level One” apprenticeship training designation as an Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer with valuable work experience and extensive skills training
To Qualify:
- Be in your graduating year, enrolled in 4-credit co-op for semester 2, with at least 26 credits by the end of Semester 1
- Have experience and passion for a career as an auto service technician
- Be in good academic standing with excellent attendance
- Demonstrate strong work habits and a positive attitude
- Have demonstrated mathematical skills
- Be willing to travel across the GTA for classes and a Cooperative Education placement
- Have minimum 65% Grade 11 University or College Mathematics
Candidates will be interviewed in late November or early December.

Program Components Include:
- Cooperative Education in-class preparation for community placement
- A cooperative education placement with a licensed Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer as a sponsoring employer
- 8 weeks at Centennial College, Ashtonbee Campus
- Program runs from April through June
This program combines apprenticeship in-class training at Centennial College and provides a Cooperative Education placement in the Transportation Sector in an automotive service industry. Students in Grade 12 must be in their graduating year with a minimum of 26 credits.
The Peel District School Board, The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, & Skills Development (MLITSD) and Centennial College (Ashtonbee Campus) offer this opportunity for students who want to pursue a career as an Automotive Service Technician.
